The strange case of the 2016 murder of DNC staffer Seth Rich took yet another odd turn this week when a GOP lobbyist who has been investigating his death was assaulted by a group of masked men.
Daily Mail reported that Republican lobbyist Jack Burkman said he was doused in the face with spray and struck on the head by an unknown assailant who pulled up in a black SUV outside his home at 7:25pm on Tuesday. The attacker sped away immediately after the attack, and Burkman suffered burns to his face.
Last month, Burkman held a fundraiser for Rick Gates, 45, a long-time business associate and protégé of Paul Manafort, the man who ran Trump’s presidential campaign for several months in 2016 and is also charged by Mueller. He also has launched his own investigation into Rich’s murder, which has become the focus of conspiracy theories.
“At approximately 7:31 p.m. on January 16, police were dispatched to the report of an assault that had just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that as the victim was returning to his residence, he located an unknown dark colored SUV in his driveway,” Arlington Police said in a statement. “The male driver exited the vehicle and sprayed the victim with a caustic substance before fleeing the scene in the vehicle. The victim was treated on scene by medics for minor injuries. The suspect is described as a white male wearing a mask and black jacket. The investigation is ongoing.”
Burkman’s public relations firm released a statement indicating that they have linked the attack to his Gates fundraiser last month.
“The attack happened just hours after Burkman released a scathing statement about the judge overseeing the prosecution of Rick Gates,” the statement read.
Freedom Daily reported that Rich was murdered in Washington D.C. on July 10, 2016 in what police have claimed was a robbery gone wrong. However, Rich was someone who was suspected of having info on this dossier, and a lot of evidence suggests his death was anything but random. This new testimony suggests Rich was killed over the dossier could and should very well be the smoking gun we’ve been waiting for, which Trump knew was coming.
Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich recently called for an investigation into Rich’s death.
“We have this very strange story now of this young man who worked for the Democratic National Committee, who apparently was assassinated at 4 in the morning, having given WikiLeaks something like 53,000 emails and 17,000 attachments,” Gingrich said.
“Nobody’s investigating that, and what does that tell you about what’s going on? Because it turns out, it wasn’t the Russians,” Gingrich added. “It was this young guy who, I suspect, was disgusted by the corruption of the Democratic National Committee. He’s been killed, and apparently, nothing serious has been done to investigate his murder. So I’d like to see how Robert S. Mueller III is going to define what his assignment is.”
