Many have been wondering just how, exactly, the president is going to react in the face of repeated provocations by the rogue state of North Korea, but this week the Trump administration has finally decided that enough is enough, and began laying out the plans for a pre-emptive strike that would cripple the enemy’s ability to wage war.
“The United States is reportedly planning a so-called ‘bloody nose’ attack against North Korea, seeking to preemptively knock out the hermit nation’s nuclear program,” the Daily Wire reported, claiming that President Trump is building a coalition of allied powers, including the former sponsor of North Korea, China, to come together and act before Kim Jong Un does something drastic.
“One option is destroying a launch site before the rogue regime uses it for a new missile test, while another is targeting weapons stockpiles” the New York Post went on to say, telling readers that “the Trump administration hopes that pre-emptive action would show the trigger-happy dictator that the United States is serious about stopping his bellicose pursuits and persuading him to negotiate.”
President Trump is likely to be using his newly forged personal relationship with Chinese President Xi Jinping to assert further pressure on the nation known as the “Hermit Kingdom,” and is believed to have gotten assurances from Jinping that China would not interfere should the United States move to eliminate the North Korean nuclear program.
The key to the kind of attack being planned is that it would be a surgical strike designed not to completely topple the North Korean government, but rather to simply remove their ability to conduct strikes against the rest of the world that might result in tremendous numbers of dead. By avoiding a messy ground invasion and instead simply pinpointing crucial locations throughout the communist country, President Trump could effectively save thousands, if not millions of innocent lives who might otherwise be lost in a conventional conflict, and would send an undeniable message that the days of pushing the United States around are over.
