Liberal screwball California Governor Jerry Brown sure picked a bizarre way to celebrate Christmas this year! Known for his “New Age” views and nonsensical CNN ramblings, the 39th governor of California decided to have a “Sanctuary State Christmas” by pardoning two convicted criminal aliens in an attempt to prevent their deportation next week by the Trump administration.
Governor Brown granted 132 pardons and commuted 19 prison sentences this past year. According to the online forms, pardons are only for individuals that have completed their entire sentence and subsequently received a certificate of rehabilitation from the courts.
Dispensing with California’s own guidelines, Brown pardoned Mony Neth of Modesto and Rottanak Kong of Davis. Both convicted criminals were arrested in October by the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service and received deportation orders beginning December 25th.
Check it out, per Breitbart:
Neth and Rottanak immigrated to the United States in 1995 as children of families that received refugee status after escaping the Cambodia’s Marxist Khmer Rouge regime. According to the Sacramento Bee, “neither has engaged in criminal activity since being released from prison,” but their crimes resulted in the loss of legal U.S. residency.
Due to his 1995 conviction on felony weapons charge with a gang enhancement and misdemeanor charges for receiving stolen property, Mony Neth was not shielded from ICE under the sanctuary state law while sitting in the Sacramento County Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center in Elk Grove.
But Brown used his gubernatorial power to prevent Neth and Kong’s deportation by issuing a state pardon on December 23, defying the Trump administration’s initiative to expel any legal aliens that violate the terms of their visas by engaging in criminal activity.
This is just another example of the liberals at the state level using whatever legal tools they find at their disposal to subvert the will of the people and the President of the United States. These aliens are here in our country illegally, committing violent crimes, and utilizing public resources without paying taxes. Then there is the issue of tracking these people as they exist with invalid visas and do not possess social security numbers…
It goes without saying that our country is a nation of laws. Our respect for those rules is what binds us together. To allow an entire population of people to settle in this country outside of those laws is a flagrant disregard for safety and stands in contradiction to commonsense.
Governor Brown, shame on you.
