Anonymous street artists rang in the new year by making one heck of a statement about a new California law taking effect. The law prevents local police in the nation’s most populous state from asking people about their immigration status or working with federal immigration forces.
The artists created official looking placards and attached them to the “Welcome to California” highway signs.
Check it out, per Fox News:
Drivers entering California are being greeted with signs proclaiming the liberal bastion an “OFFICIAL SANCTUARY STATE,” according to photos and videos circulating on social media appearing to show a prankster attached the official-looking blue signs just below legitimate “Welcome to California” markers.
The Sanctuary State sign, which adds “Felons, Illegals and MS13 [gang members] welcome,” is similar to one hung up by a Malibu activist last year. Attempts to reach California’s Department of Transportation were not immediately successful.
“Democrats Need The Votes!” reads a message on the signs, which are plastered with the Great Seal of California and a donkey, one of the symbols of the Democratic Party.
California became a “sanctuary state” Monday, as a bill that Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown signed into law in October officially took effect.
The Golden State is home to an estimated 2.3 million illegal immigrants.
“These are uncertain times for undocumented Californians and their families, and this bill strikes a balance that will protect public safety, while bringing a measure of comfort to those families who are now living in fear everyday,” Brown said on the day he signed the bill.
This was a huge win for Democrats as they know an influx of illegals will ensure California stays a blue state for decades to come.
Do the donkeys in blue suits care that the illegal immigrants exist outside of the rule of law and do not pay taxes? Do they understand that a porous border that encourages undocumented crossing dramatically increases the amount of illegal drugs in the Unite States?
No, all they care about is retaining their power and influence so that they can continue to line their pockets at the expense of working-class Californians.
Do you still support President Trump’s plan to build a wall and overhaul our broken immigration system?
