America’s modern-day monarchy, as embodied by the corrupt two-party system, has produced stunning examples of removed indifference on the part of the monarchists.
Nancy Pelosi, feudal duchess of the duchy of San Francisco, just had her ‘Marie Antoinette’ moment. Too bad there are no guillotines around.
Either on her way to or on her from her multi-million-dollar mansion in her duchy, Pelosi held a press conference with the nation’s court jesters (aka the media) and the topic of companies giving bonuses and raises to their employees following the passage of the Republican ‘Tax Cuts and Jobs Act’ in late December came up.
At some point a jester asked, “A number of companies are attributing the tax bill for being able to give higher wages as well as being able to give a number of bonuses to their employees, how do you respond to that?”
Do you notice the devious way the question was crafted? The jester was not looking for an informed response, but reassurance that the ‘Cromwells’ of the kingdom will not control the narrative.
Daily Wire quotes Duchess Pelosi as bequeathing the following insight to the rabble:
“A number of bonuses that were given … one of the bonuses was in a union contract and then they added a little more money to that. That same firm just told the employees they were going to be laying off 1,500 people and if they wanted to save their jobs, they could all start working 32 hours.
“In terms of the bonus that corporate America received versus the crumbs they are giving to workers to put the schmooze on is so pathetic,” Pelosi continued. “And I would hope with their big advantage of bringing home at a very low rate that they would invest in infrastructure, but our experience has been they will seek dividends and buy-backs. It is insignificant.”
To put this in perspective, Duchess Pelosi is dismissing the money given to hard working Americans as ‘pathetic’, while she condones the confiscatory taxation of her subjects that has stolen trillions in wealth from those same hard working Americans.
To be fair, the promised bonuses averaging $1,000 per employee and the higher wages are ‘pathetic’ ‘little monies’ sprinkled insignificantly like ‘breadcrumbs’ among everyday Americans, compared to Pelosi’s horded $30 million.
Matt Wolking, a communications professional in D.C. and someone familiar with public relations, called the Pelosi Antoinette-like condescension, what it was:
“This is a devastating and incredible gaffe from Nancy Pelosi that will likely fuel many Democrats’ concerns that she is killing her party’s efforts to appeal to working class voters again.”

You would think that at least one person at the presser would elbow her and whisper into her ear, ‘Pelosi! Your elitism is showing!’
What do you think? Is Pelosi an out-of-touch elitist?
