Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) has strongly hinted that a longtime Clinton associate with access to the State Department gave information to former British MI6 spy Christopher Steele.
Politico reports that during his appearance on the February 6 airing of Fox News’ “The Story”, Gowdy told host Martha MaCallum that for a month now he has had evidence that someone close to Hillary and Bill Clinton pumped information from the Obama administration to the author of the fictional Russian Dossier.
“When you hear who the source, one of the sources of that information is, you’re going to think, ‘Oh, my gosh, I’ve heard that name somewhere before. Where could it possibly have been?’” stated Gowdy.
MaCallum threw out the name Sidney Blumenthal, a despicable weasel of a human being. Blumenthal matches the criteria of being a trusted associate of both Hillary and Bill Clinton, but he did not work at the State Department. This does not rule out the snake-in-the-grass, because he most likely had a Deep State contact in the State Department.

On January 5, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley pushed for an investigation into the role Steele played in the Russian Dossier. During the probe, it became known that information was received by “a foreign sub-source who is in touch with [redacted], a contact of [redacted], a friend of the Clintons, who passed it to [redacted],” reports the Washington Examiner.
When MacCallum mentioned Blumenthal, Gowdy replied hesitantly, “That would be really warm. You’re warm.”
Longtime investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson describes Blumenthal, whom she nicknames “Sid Vicious”, as the preeminent smear artist. In the mid-1980s, while writing for the Washington Post, Blumenthal also assisted in writing speeches for Democrat philanderer Gary Hart. He was later hired by the Clinton White House and quickly went to work dragging the reputation and character of Monica Lewinsky through the mud.
Attkisson writes in her book ‘The Smear: How Shady Political Operatives and Fake News Control What You See, What you Think, and How You Vote’ that one “key tactic Blumenthal would pioneer and perfect: the art of getting his story or view-even when incorrect-widely circulated in the media.”
Hillary is already implicated in the funding of the Russian Dossier, so it is not very surprising that one of her cronies was intimately involved in providing information (i.e. getting the story/narrative) for the smear attempt aimed at Trump.
What do you think? Do you believe Blumenthal is involved in the Russian Dossier?
